I have been programming in RPG/RPGLE and freeform for most of my career whether as a programmer or a manager. Writing code to improve ERP or to add functionality to ERP modules. Designing new systems or sub-systems to enhance business processes. Using embedded SQL in RPG and freeform has reduced code and coding time.
My ability to code with SQL and use SQL as a trouble shooting measure has reduced time to determine issues. SQL also allows for quick test setup of scenarios, with re-usability, be it on the IBMi or Microsoft. Using Excel and VBA to do reporting of filtered changes to files allows for re-usability.
