I have been working in the computer industry since 1980. Initially as an operator on a Burroughs system while active duty in the US Air Force. Once I left the service, I went to tech school for programming. Learning the basics of RPG, COBOL, CL and technology in general. In 1988, I landed a programming job for a manufacturing company working with their mid-range systems.
That's when I fell in love with the AS400. I loved the ease of programming and the many bells and whistles the system had. I have grown through the years, continuing programming in mostly RPG, but some in COBOL.
My most recent contract has ended. (While on my last contract I got the opportunity to work on the database team. That was awesome.)
Programming languages include: RPG, RPG IV, RPGLE, SQL, CL, Cobol.
In the not so distant past, I presented sub-file processing and embedded SQL programming, at RPG World. I am strong at development, trouble shooting programming issues, documenting processes and training others.
I enjoy sharing knowledge, so if you need assistance in the training of programmers, I would love to help.
